The Forgotten Casks were, surprisingly, forgotten.
The story behind it is that on May 2, 2007, the administration and blending system were badly damaged by a fire.
In the hustle and bustle of the fire, barrels were brought from the warehouses to all possible places and then forgotten for the time being.
Some barrels from the Chairmans range were then found and filled separately with 40% vol.
The barrels are blends of molasses rums that have been distilled in the coffey and pot stills.
They were matured separately, depending on the type of distillation, in ex-Bourbon barrels from Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and Buffalo Trace.
After 3 to 7 years they were blended and then stored for another 5 years.
The Forgotten Casks are older rums from Charman's Reserve Rums, the age of which is between 7 and 12 years.
Wonderfully intense nose of sweet raisin & sultana with hints of tobacco and vanilla from the oak. On the palateit is intense with sweet honeyed fruit and spices giving a wonderfully balanced and complex rum
