Signatory Vintage

As an independent bottler of a wide range of Scotch whiskies, Signatory has been distributing exclusive cask bottlings under its own name since 1988, giving many fans access to brands that do not release bottlings under their own logo. The company's own cask warehouse, with well over 10,000 casks, still contains a stock of bottlings from some distilleries that have either already closed or have enjoyed such popularity for years that they no longer release casks to independent bottlers. Some such distilleries have had such strong demand from whisky enthusiasts for a number of years that many bottlings are now released without an age statement, as the old stock often simply does not have the required capacity. Signatory is different: each bottling contains information about the distillation and bottling date, the cask and bottle number, the type of cask and whether it has been chill-filtered.

Alle Abfüllungen entsprechen grundsätzlich der eigenen Farbe und wurden nicht mit Zuckercouleur versetzt. Manche Abfüllungen bestehen nicht nur aus einem Fass, sondern aus einer Vermählung zweier Fässer, selten auch drei bis vier. Die Fässer werden von Hand ausgewählt und in der eigenen Anlage abgefüllt. Verpackt werden die Flaschen in hochwertigen und ansprechend designten Geschenkdosen aus Pappe oder Blech. Bei den besonders wertvollen Abfüllungen kommen Klavierholz oder Nussbaum zum Einsatz.
